As a photographic artist, with an array of creatures and objects, my photographic stories highlight current social and ecological concerns. At times kitsch, humours and using charterer creation of both myself and the animals I use in my work, my photographs bring the topics for discussion to the audience, the story then begins.
The locations become stage sets to aid my story telling, whilst in front of the camera it is my opportunity to use the photographic image as a discussion space, the camera is a record of my thinking process as well as capturing the vivid, engaging stories, photography by photograph, building up the story that can often be followed around the gallery wall and through the books that sit alongside my work.
The books I create to compliment my work give the audience an opportunity to read the stories, understand the ideas and extensive research behind the bodies of work. Having a fine art background has influenced my practice, and continued my love of finding and using objects in my work and subverting their meaning in my photographs.
