Through all of my work I have been concerned and interested in preserving, protecting, keeping and archiving. There is a very strong focus on the use and influence of objects and their value, both by society, by photography and by the artist. I am very interested in seeing what happens to objects when placed within the new context of my work. How the value and meaning of objects change fascinate me. Social and environmental concerns have been discussed in many of my projects, as are questions regarding the reality and falseness that can be experimented, played with in a very versatile way within the photographic image.

I use myself within my photographs, this gives me complete control over the images, and I then become an object to be manipulated within the scene in the photograph. There is also a strong sense of performance within my work. In many ways, the photograph becomes a stage set, with props, actors and a story that needs to be told, showing this through a photograph can create an engagement and interaction with the viewers.
